I can't believe it has been two months already. Two months of pure joy. Well, ok, there is the occasional screaming episode, the spit up all over mommy's shirt right before we are heading out the door (and are already running late), the poopy diaper that defied the laws of pampers and ended up all over him, his clothes and mommy's shirt, and the sleep less nights. But you know what, I wouldn't trade it for the world, and I would do it ten times over to experience the happiness Jonathan has brought into our lives. These last two months have brought so much happiness to Steven and I and to our families. Jonathan is really developing a little personality and is letting us know what he likes, doesn't like and what makes him smile. I always say that he is Steve all over, but I am starting to see that he might be me "all over" when it comes to personality. He definitely has a bit of a drama factor, he gets very frustrated when he can't do something and makes sure he lets us know what he wants and how he wants it!! This past month, Jonathan has shown his little personality. He is starting to coo more and more and responds to us when we talk to him. he tracks Steve or me when we walk across the room and if we are upstairs and he hears Steve coming up the stairs, he turns towards the door. He smiles all the time! The morning is his best time. He doesn't wake up upset. I get him out of his crib, taking him to the changing table and we will stay there for about 10 minutes talking, "cooing" smiling, blowing bubbles....he takes the best pictures then! He is really a ham for the camera! He imitates you when you stick your tongue out. Its so funny. His Aunt Cathy taught him how to stick his tongue out. Now, if you ask him "How does Aunt Cathy go?" He sticks his tongue out and gets excited! It is too precious! Jonathan also turned over for the first time. On December 29th, we had given him a bath and after put him on his stomach on the floor to let him "air out" and get some tummy time. He got so frustrated that he couldn't move forward that some way, some how, he ended up turning over onto his back!! He shouldn't be doing that for another two months! I did get it on video!!
Today was his two month check up at the doctor's office. He is 10lbs even and 21 and 1/4 inches long. He is only in the 4th percentile for height and 16th percentile for weight. He got three shots and took them like a champ! The doctor was so impressed with his gross motor skills and he is actually functioning at a 4-6 month old level. The doctor was just overwhelmed with how well he holds his head up, tracks, and can push him self up onto his hands when on his stomach. She told me, "Mom, get your running shoes on....this kid is going to be an active one!"
This past week, he went to the Gold's Gym Kids Club for the first time so mommy could get a much needed workout and he did great! He slept the whole hour. There was another little boy there that was born November 16th. Let's just say, that Steven nick named that kid "Bubba" and told Jonathan not to take his toys!! :)
This last month has been amazing. I have 3 and 1/2 more weeks before I go back to work, and I am going to soak in every little moment I can. I am so blessed to have my mom take care of him 2 days a week. I will be going back to work 4 days a week and Steve works 3 days a week. We cannot be more blessed to have such a good work schedule and to have my mom take care of him so we don't have to put him in daycare. So here we go...off to another month. I can't wait to see what new adventures these next few weeks bring!!
