11 weeks on 11/11
Today was bittersweet. I graduated from Dr. Garza's office. Hard to believe after 6 years, this is it! I can't thank him enough. He has seen me through it all, never once made me feel pressured to do something I didn't feel was right, and was so compassionate when I was emotional before my D&C. Plus, he's an ACTS brother! Today was amazing. I went to have the US done first. We got to see the baby kick, move, and even witnessed hiccups! It was the most amazing thing to see this little life bouncing around inside of me. I can't wait to be able to feel this little one, and I can't wait for Steve and Jonathan to feel this baby kick! So here we are coming to the end of the first trimester. Things are going quickly. Too quickly sometimes!! I just continue to pray for a healthy pregnancy, a healthy baby and the energy to do this!!

FROG--Fully Rely On God!
I was asked by several family members if I was going to keep a blog with this pregnancy. It is a little late, but here it goes...
Steve and I have been over the moon being parents to Jonathan and have always wanted to expand our family. We would love to see Jonathan as a big brother. I knew my history and knew this was probably going to be another tough road. So, when Jonathan turned one, we decided to try again. Of course things didn't happen right away. We tried for over a year and a 1/2 before we decided to get back in touch with Dr. Garza. We had some preliminary blood work done. Again, all looked good. I went for my second follow up and we agreed to go in for another laparoscopy. On April 10, 2014, I had my surgery, and sure enough, had endometriosis and fibroid tumors (that was new, but benign--Praise God!) We waited for a several months, and nothing. A part of me thought, well, maybe we will just be a family of three...and that is OK! Well, it was a Saturday night September 20th, and we had gone to my grandparents for dinner. My mom, dad, sister, were there, too! We sat out on the back patio (amongst the beautiful plants my grandmother tends to) enjoying the beautiful evening. Out of the blue, I had this wave of nausea and reflux hit. I knew this feeling all too well--that was my first inclination I was pregnant with Jonathan. Could this be?? Really? Pregnant? Well, only time would tell. Before I knew it, Jonathan says, "look mom, a frog!" A tiny little frog hopped across the patio, and Jonathan and I spent the next few minutes admiring this tiny little creature. FROG--FULLY RELY ON GOD! I learned this acronym from an ACTS sister, Connie Vela, and every time I see a frog I can't help but think about her, and her reminder--FULLY RELY ON GOD! Like I have said in the past, whenever I have asked the Lord for something, or to ensure that all is well, I ask God to hit me upside the head because I don't take subtle hints. Well, here it was! My sign from Him that all is well! So, I took a test the next day. To my surprise after the 2 minutes you are supposed to wait for the reading, the test was negative. Ok, maybe I just ate something funny that night. I was disappointed, to say the least, but God is good, and I knew it was all in His time. I left the test on the top of the toilet and went on with my evening. Later that night I came upstairs to take a shower and went to throw the test away...2 little lines. Positive? It was a faint line, but it was a line. I immediately took another one. It was faint, but there it was again. Well, I wasn't fully convinced. I took about 4 more tests after that over the next few days. This was it! We were pregnant!
The reflux was in full force, so was the nausea, and OMG, the eating!! Steve kept telling me, "pace yourself, Babe! So here we are! In the middle of this amazing journey again. I attended an ACTS retreat from October 2-5. I had the amazing opportunity of giving a talk on Prayer, Adoration, and Study, and got a chance to share my story. After I finished, one of the ladies, Gloria Velasco, came up to thank me for my message. She proceeds to grab my hands and tell me, "I just have to tell you this, there's a baby coming!" I told her, "you're right, there is!" I have received so many little signs assuring me that this is going to be just fine!
This pregnancy is definitely different, though! I crave salty foods. If I could live on mexican food, I would be fine! I started with my morning sickness happening mainly in the evenings after dinner. Some days its there all day, some days, I feel great. I have been tired, but not the exhaustion I remember with Jonathan. Maybe because this time, I don't have time to be tired with an "almost" 3 year old!
So I will try my hardest to keep up with my postings. I am excited because on Tuesday I got to Dr. Garza for the last time! It's my 11 week check up and my graduation from their office!! I am excited! Here's to a happy and healthy pregnancy!
